July 4th - No work, Just Relaxation 361 Days To Go!!

July 3 to July 5, 2010

This weekend there were no projects worked on, just a time to relax and enjoy the holiday.  We finally took the kayaks down from their storage spot on the fly bridge and went for a paddle up the Mystic River to the Mystic Seaport.  We also launched the dinghy and went for a dinghy ridge with both Tucker and Willow, our two Jack Russell Terriers.  Willow enjoyed the ride, standing with her front feet on the inflated tube of the dinghy and her ears blowing in the wind.  It was really hot, high 90's, so Tucker found a shaded spot on the floor and slept!  On the evening of the 4th, we were treated to a a number of fireworks displays that we were able to view right from our own flybridge at the marina!  On Monday morning we took the kayaks out again for some exploring and in the early afternoon we took our boat, Erika Lin, for a cruise west on Long Island Sound and up the Thames River .  Again, the temperature was in the high 90's, so it was really nice moving through the water and keeping somewhat cooler.
The pictures below show just how relaxing this weekend was:
