Today we sadly say good-bye to BraveHeart as they are off to Wisconsin.  Fair seas and safe sailing, Ken and Pinky.  We have enjoyed your company and the nightly Mexican Train sessions!
The water in this marina is so clear the boat appears to be suspended above the bottom!
After BraveHeart left, Bob and I, along with Tucker and Willow, headed to catch the ferry for Mackinac Island.  Yes, we took the senior citizen dogs!  Here is a shot of Tucker, with Bob, on the ferry.  Willow wouldn't stay still long enough to take a picture.
The Mackinac Bridge is currently the 3rd longest suspension bridge in the world.  The height of the roadway at mid-span is approximately 200 feet above water level.  Hopefully, we will get a closer shot tomorrow as we go under the bridge.
Mackinac Island is unique in that automobiles are prohibited on the island.  Travel on the island is either by foot, bicycle or horse and carriage.
At 660 feet, Grand Hotel's Front Porch is the world's largest, and is visible as you approach the island from the Straits of Mackinac.  More than 130,000 overnight guests stay at Grand Hotel each season.
Unfortunately, unless you are a guest of the hotel, you can't get any closer than this unless you pay $10.00!  Then you are allowed to walk up on the porch.
After having walked Tucker and Willow more than they have walked in a VERY long time, they collapsed in our laps on the ferry ride back to St. Ignace!
