We left the municipal marina and traveled out onto Lake Michigan.  The lake was fairly calm this morning, with waves of only 1/2 foot.  As the morning progressed, the lake became smoother and smoother.  We have found Lake Michigan to be somewhat hard to predict.  It can go from calm to very rough seas in a very short period of time.  Not so, today.  By the time we arrived in Grand Haven, there were no waves at all to speak of!
The only waves are being created by our motion through the water
Grand Haven channel entrance.  The walkway is so the lighthouse attendant can walk out to the lighthouse when waves come over the breakwall!
Grand Haven has the world's largest musical water fountain and puts on an impressive display of lights, music and fountain action.  We had a front row seat  and were able to sit on our aft deck and watch the display each night.  In September 2006, the Grand Haven Musical Fountain Animated Choreographer (software) was released to the public to encourage the development of new shows. The free software can be downloaded at www.ghmfsoftware.com

There is a maintenance item to attend to today, defrosting the refrigerator.  It was a good time to take care of this task, since the fridge was nearly empty!
Later in the day, we took a trolley ride through the town.  To our surprise, the trolly driver does a narrated tour!  We were the only ones on the trolley, it was like our own personal tour of Grand Haven and the fare was only $0.75 each!!
There are many fish sculptures as these throughout the town
