Once underway, we entered our 104th lock. This is the final lock we will travel through until
we get to North Carolina! Looks like Mr.
Heron wanted to celebrate with Lynda!

The birds in the area come flying in when the horn on the lock sounds,
indicating the lock doors are closing.
They land on the lock door and feast on the fish that are trapped in the
gate’s steel superstructure!
This bluff is where petrified sand dollars can be
found. There even have been petrified
shark teeth found here! Unfortunately,
there is no way we can stop and search the bank!
I thought the rock formations in the following picture were
interesting. They were formed by hundreds
of years of erosion.
Below is the remains of the Lone Star Cement Dock. At the top of the pole is a painted mark that
shows the high water mark of the flood in April of 1979. That was an enormous amount of water!
Lovers Leap is a deeply cracked and colored rock. There are trees with gnarled roots clinging
to the cliff and Spanish moss hangs from the trees.
Tonight we are in a lovely anchorage, Three Rivers
Lake. We are rafted with Sweet Pea and
Loop Dreams. Also, rafted in the
anchorage is NautiNell and Blue Skies.
